Understanding OCD Students

Are you obsess about cleaning up you hands over and over again just because you do not think they are clean enough?
or perhaps
you just could not stand holding things without cleaning and sterilising them before you touch them?
well if you are not convinced enough,
would it make you just nuts if you ever threw anything away?
You just have to keep it incase some day you might have a need for it?

If you answer yes to most of the questions, then you might be one of the people who have OCD or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

It is normal for us to be obsess over something. It is only fair for normal people like us to treat them like usual.
.....

  • Understand that the OCD Students is Not in Control of His Action
The students might end up doing works longer than other students. So it is up to the teacher to understand them and let them work on it slowly. OCD students sometimes will feel insecure and paranoid over little things. But it is not a reason for them to be alienated from the others. Try helping the students and this will also strengthen the bond between the teacher and the students.

  • Be Prepared to Cope With OCD for Some Time
OCD students need time to understand and work their ways out of things, This is when they need the teacher's help to understand the situation and the activities. Forcing them to do things on their own just make them feel more paranoid with their surroundings. At least by offering help, they will know that it is okay to be like that.

.....

These are some of the ways to understand OCD students.
They often being alienated by the crowds because of who they are.
So it is up to the teachers to understand the situation and take control over it.
